Event Highlights:
- Industry Insights: Larry Gross reviewed Q1 volume growth and discussed tariff uncertainties and global developments affecting intermodal.
- Rail & Trucking: Adriene Bailey (Oliver Wyman) explored rail’s potential to capture more freight from trucking, especially in short-haul and interchange markets.
- Committee Engagement: Interactive roundtables and committee meetings tackled topics like roadability regulations, mechanics training, and ongoing M&R initiatives.
- Safety & Operations: Sessions addressed data exchange, cargo theft, lithium-ion battery safety, and included a live roadside inspection demonstration.
- Future Leaders: Applications for the Future Leaders of Intermodal Program (FLIP) cohort 2 are now open.
- Legislative and Regulatory Update: Anne Reinke, IANA President & CEO, outlined the Association’s advocacy priorities, emphasizing the necessity of a strong presence on Capitol Hill to advance intermodal interests.
- Networking: Attendees enjoyed the annual Golf Outing, historic welcome reception, and a night out at the Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago White Sox game.
